Pacific Coast Highway Road Trip

Over three days we drove and explored California’s renowned Highway 1, stopping to take photographs and recording the entire drive from San Francisco to Santa Monica. This leisurely drive turned adventurous after passing the coastal cities of Santa Cruz, Monterey and Carmel. Every part of this exhilarating drive offered interesting sites; from a 1,000-foot climb into the coastal redwood forest to the narrow shoulders and sharp drop-offs of the gripping mountainside roads.

Promotion of our video

Obviously when we set out to make a video for our blog, Stylishlyme, we wanted to make sure people beyond our community would see the video.

1. Identify all area media outlets.
2. Get audio approval/licensing
3. Add your video to YouTube
4. Create, search engine optimized (SEO) titles and descriptions.

For our California Road Trip video we contacted the visitor bureaus though Facebook and simply shared our video and asked them to share with their Facebook communities. We also contacted the band Concorde and received permission to use their song “Candy Boy” for our video. All of this communication was done through Facebook.

Email inboxs are too saturated so we simply used Facebook and Twitter to introduce our video directly to the organization’s content creators, immediately. This action, and the polite tone of our interest, lead them to share the videos with their communities. See below:
